CPD Events for Podiatrists

Podiatrists are required to maintain and improve their professional knowledge in Australia. All are registered through the Australian Health Professions Regulatory Authority (AHPRA). To find out more about AHPRA, please visit the AHPRA site http://www,ahpra.gov.au.

Podiatrists and Podiatric surgeons are regulated by the Podiatry Board of Australia, and must maintain registration standards annually. For more information on the Podiatry Board of Australia, please visit the PBA site www.podiatryboard.gov.au

Podiatry Board of Australia Guidelines on CPD, including a sample record template are available here. Podiatry-Guidelines-for-continuing-professional-development (1)

One of the requirements podiatrists and podiatric surgeons have to fulfil is the minimum professional development training they must undertake each year. Podiatrists must complete 20 hours of training and podiatric surgeons must complete 40 hours. This requirement is spread across a number of areas so as to ensure they maintain a broad knowledge of the latest research, treatments, issues and conditions as well as professional practice standards. Please visit the Podiatry Board of Australia site for more information on the standards.

Podiatry WA provides professional development sessions for podiatrists, both members and non-members. This is developed according to available speakers, latest news and health issues. For information on the latest professional development session, please contact Ian on info@podiatrywa.com.au.
